Follow-up | Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee Continues Field Visits with a Visit to the Faculty of Medicine – Zintan.

As part of efforts to monitor and evaluate the performance of higher education institutions, assess academic and administrative performance, and ensure compliance with approved quality standards and requirements, the committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research continued its field visits on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with a visit to the Faculty of Medicine – Zintan.


The committee was accompanied by the President of the University of Zintan, Dr. Ibrahim Salem Mohammed, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abu Bakr Shaoof, and a number of directors of university centers, departments, and offices.


The visit included reviewing the workflow at the Faculty, assessing academic and administrative performance, and inspecting laboratories, facilities, equipment, and educational and training resources, as well as their readiness and compliance with the approved standards and requirements.

The committee was received at the Faculty by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, heads of the Faculty’s academic and administrative departments, and a number of faculty members and staff. A presentation was provided on the Faculty’s work, academic programs, and available resources, followed by responses to the committee’s inquiries and observations. This reflects the Faculty’s commitment to enhancing performance quality, institutional evaluation, and continuous improvement.


The committee also conducted a field tour of several Faculty facilities and laboratories to closely assess the educational and training environment and the level of facilities, services, and resources available to students, contributing to the provision of an appropriate learning and training environment for medical students.


This visit is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to strengthen field-based monitoring of higher education institutions, promote a culture of quality and evaluation, and support development and continuous improvement initiatives. These efforts aim to enhance academic and administrative performance, improve institutional efficiency, and contribute to better academic and professional outcomes.
